About the Workshop
This 2 day learning workshop will provide a deep understanding of key Toyota principles. The workshop will be presented by David Meier, co-author of Toyota Talent and The Toyota Way Fieldbook, and Mike Hoseus, co-author of the new book Toyota Culture along with Tracey Richardson who is a twenty-year veteran of Toyota. All three instructors have extensive experience teaching Toyota principles and Tracey currently trains Toyota leaders in the TBP (Toyota Business Practice) process.
The workshop is limited to 30 participants so that instructors are accessible, and each student can have individual questions addressed. The event will include interactive discussions of the following topics:
Building and Sustaining a Lean Culture – What are the “secrets” to Toyota’s overwhelming successes? You won’t want to miss this session!
Hoshin Kanri (Strategy Deployment) – A look inside Toyota’s business planning model that focuses efforts on the company’s key performance indicators such as Quality, Safety, Productivity and Cost. Hoshin Kanri is used to drive and align the daily activities of each team member from the bottom to the top of the organization.
Toyota Way Values (Culture of Mutual Trust & Respect and Continuous Improvement) – We will also introduce the key elements of engagement and motivation that give team members tangible action items in order to “live” the company’s values. In addition we will show you how to focus the team member on “value added” activities and provide a “line of sight” to the company Hoshin Plan (Strategic deployment of objectives) or Key Performance Indicators and goals.
Workplace Management Development System – We will teach a visual control system that aligns workplace management and team member developmental activities and focuses their daily activities to achieve company Hoshin targets (KPI’s).
Problem Solving – Toyota is famous for their ability to solve problems and continuously improve. The key to this process is a different way to think about problems and arrive at effective and sustainable solutions. The presenters learned the Toyota Problem Solving method first-hand and have been coaching companies in this method for many years. We are confident you will find the opportunity to work with, and learn from these excellent presenters beneficial.
